Our Oak sleepers are fantastic for any garden project and can be used to create amazing rustic looking benches, raised flower beds, planters, steps/railings, retaining walls or even water features. Oak sleepers are very versatile and they are often used as a great alternative for bricks or stone.
Our sleepers are cut with a circular saw so they already have a nice clean cut finish (As opposed to a chainsaw). Whilst the quality of the oak is fantastic it is naturally a lower grade than would be used for example in doors or flooring, so they may have some small splits or a wane in some edges as essentially they are a cheap but very natural looking piece of rustic oak timber.
Why English Oak?
English Oak is a fantastic wood which is becoming ever more popular in construction, interior decorating and furniture for its excellent strength and visually appealing natural rustic look. Oak is known for remaining strong over many, many years and is more resistance to scratches compared to other woods. Oak is also highly resistant to rain and rot.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON UNTREATED OAK SLEEPERS GRADING
All our oak railway sleepers have imperfections – these are untreated Oak Sleepers which we have deemed to be in good condition & suitable as general purpose sleepers or beams. There will be slight imperfections such as minor splits, the occasional knot or bark showing, but in general these are tidy cuts of wood and produce excellent results for most purposes.
