Delivery Terms and Conditions

We offer local and national delivery plus collection from our base in Redruth, Cornwall. On this page we explain our standard delivery prices and times.

Deliveries are scheduled by postcode area but we can be flexible and will endeavour to meet your needs for delivery. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us before placing your order.

Standard Delivery Prices

We set our delivery prices based on the products you order (* See Non-standard items delivery prices section below) and distance you are from our base in Redruth, Cornwall, TR16 5DZ. Our standard delivery prices are;

Within 15 miles = FREE *
15 – 25 miles = £5
25 – 35 miles = £10
35 – 50 miles = £30
50+ miles = Third Party Courier (Fee may vary)

Please note that If our website cannot calculate your distance from us from your given address, we calculate delivery prices based on the given post code where prices may not be as accurate as those above.

All prices are subject to change.

* Free delivery is only for orders containing standard items. See below for any non standard items which may have different delivery prices applied to them.

Deliveries Containing Non-standard Items

Some products, particularly those that are larger, require a different process for delivery which can affect the price compared to our standard delivery prices above. When this occurs we will do our best to list them here;

Wood Pellets and Railway Sleepers:
– Within Cornwall: £36 inc VAT per item
– Outside of Cornwall (Mainland England) – £38 Inc VAT (Third Party Courier) per item

We calculate delivery dates by your post code. These are our usual days and postcodes for local deliveries. *

* These delivery days are subject to change and are excluding bank holidays and public holidays. We will try our best to notify you in advance if your delivery date changes.

Delivery Cut Off Times

Orders received Monday – Friday at least 1 day prior to the regular delivery day and before 1pm are normally delivered the same week*.

Orders before 1pm:

For example, a TR1 post code (Usual delivery day Thursday) must be ordered by 1pm the day before (Wednesday) or sooner to get it to you that same week.

Orders after 1pm:

Orders made after 1pm and 1 day prior to the regular delivery day will be delivered the following week on the next available delivery day.

For example, a TR1 post code (Usual delivery day Thursday) ordered after 1pm on Wednesday or thereafter will usually be allocated a delivery day of Thursday the following week.

Same Day Delivery:

We currently do not offer same day delivery but if you phone our office after submitting your order we may on some occasions be able to bring your delivery sooner that your allocated delivery date.

* Whilst we do our best to consistently meet our delivery dates, sometimes unforeseen events require us to change our deliveries and so all of our delivery dates and times are subject to change.

Collection

Collection is free from our office is Redruth. Our full address can be found in the footer of this website.

Further Delivery Information

Local deliveries will arrive in one of our vans and our drivers will unload the bags to a nearby log store or garage by hand. We have different sized vans for all types of access restraints, nothing is too difficult so give us a call to discuss your delivery options.

Local Delivery:

  1. All deliveries will be hand ball delivered 3-5 days from order date, an order date will be given to you upon completion of your order.
  2. Normal delivery times are between 9 am and 5 pm. They are not obliged to give am or pm but may do so.
  3. In the rare event of a customer agreeing to a delivery and then not being at home during the agreed time period, a redelivery charge per pallet/order will be made of £10
  4. Where access is limited, van delivery and ‘handball’ is an option; there may be additional charges for handling and a stacking fee charged for those with difficult access. We allow 20 minutes per drop after this time charges for unloading will apply @ £5 per 30 minutes.
  5. In the event of a delivery not being possible due to poor access or gravel drive then the delivery will have to be “roadside” (i.e. left as near to the property as possible).
  6. All goods must be checked on arrival and delivery paperwork signed unless prior agreement has been made with the customer to leave the goods at the property at which point these will be left at the customer’s risk.
  7. Any delivery issues must be reported immediately to Cornish Firewood.
  8. In the event of any dispute resulting in the goods being returned to Cornish Firewood, payment will be refunded to the customer less any charges.
  9. Lead times may extend during busy periods.

National Delivery

  1. All deliveries will be charged by postcode area and will be ‘Economy’ which is 3 – 7 days from despatch.
  2. Orders received by 3 pm will be despatched on the next working day unless lead times are specified.
  3. Normal delivery times are between 9 a.m. and 5 pm and the carrier will ring to book in a delivery. They are not obliged to give a.m. or pm but may do so.
  4. All offshore destinations and parts of Scotland will be subject to a delivery surcharge.
  5. In the event of a customer agreeing to a delivery and then not being at home during the agreed time period, a redelivery charge of £20 per pallet will be made.
  6. Delivery drivers are not expected to manoeuvre the pallet beyond the rear of the vehicle but will always be as helpful as possible where conditions allow.
  7. Access is required for a 7.5 tonne lorry with rear tail lift, pallet trucks cannot travel over gravel or soft ground. In the event of a delivery not being possible due to poor access or gravel drive then the delivery will have to be “roadside” (i.e. left as near to the property as possible) for customer to unload.
  8. All goods must be checked on arrival and delivery paperwork signed unless prior agreement has been made with the delivery company to leave the goods at the property at which point these will be left at the customer’s risk.
