Cornish Firewood Wooden Headgear Moves Home!

Cornish Firewood Wooden Headgear Moves Home!

In an effort to safeguard Cornwall’s mining history, we have been working with King Edward Mine Museum to relocate the last working wooden headframe in the region to ensure its preservation and ongoing care.

The headgear has been carefully dismantled and taken to King Edward Mine Museum at Troon, where it will be assessed for repairs and restoration. The plan is for the headgear to be re-erected in a prominent position.

Progress will be dependent on raising the necessary funding (estimated at £25,000 – £30,000), the intention is to raise as much of this as possible through fundraising, grants and sponsorship.

If you would like to contribute to the funding of this great project you can Donate to the project on GoFundMe.
