It has come to our attention in recent months that there are a couple of competitors who are advertising and calling themselves Cornish Firewood. Whilst this is very flattering and testifies to our quality product and service that our competition feel they cannot sell on their own merits but pretend to be us.
Therefore, can we ask you be to be vigilant when searching online for us and our contact number. Here is a quick checklist to ensure you are talking to the genuine Cornish Firewood:
If you a returning customer:
- We will have your details on our system so will already have your contact address and email and can confirm this with you at time of order.
- We will offer you 10% loyalty discount on all non- special offer products
- We take card and cash payments. We will never insist on cash or cheque only.
- We have a yard/office you can collect from and are based at Skinners Bottom Redruth Not Wadebridge or St Austell.

We are a family run local business that have built our custom up over several years. We are proud of our roots and how far we have come. We are also very fond of our lovely customers who we try to look after we hope you agree.
We offer consistency, quality and no quibble guarantee on all our products. We have fab staff who care very much about what they do here.
As a customer you are entitled to shop where you chose and take advantage of offers as they arise or are marketed to you.
However, recently and the main reason for this email we have had several customers who have been duped. They ordered firewood believing they were ordering from Cornish Firewood. They were even offered the 10% loyalty discount. These customers have then received wet wood unable to burn, one didn’t get their delivery at all because it was raining but no call to advise. They luckily were paying by cash or they would not have got a refund. Others have not realised until delivery by which time the other supplier will not refund and collect.
Some of these customers that are getting confused or clicking on the wrong link online are elderly and rely on dry ready to burn wood. Others are busy working families who need a simple order and delivery service without aggro of wet wood being delivered.
We are concerned that this makes our business look bad if people order and believe it to be Cornish Firewood. We are also concerned that our loyal customers are being conned and receiving sub- standard products and service with no guarantee if need to return the product. This is dangerous as wet wood causes all sorts of issues with flues, chimneys and wood burners and a false economy. The saying goes: "if it seems too good to be true it usually is".
All we ask is you take care when ordering and ensure you know who you are buying from.
